Rotork Controls is a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of valve actuation and control equipment. The Rotork Site Service division is responsible for all after sales services and also includes also includes the design, installation and commissioning of retrofitted valve actuators and control systems for plant upgrades and extensions in a variety of industries.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Service and Site Projects Manger, you will join a team of Field Service Engineers who represent Rotork Site Service. Travelling extensively throughout the UK you will install, inspect, service and repair actuators and commission associated equipment in customer's plant/site.
Multiple visits overseas will also be required, ranging from a few days to three or four weeks duration. Offshore work in the UK sector of the North Sea can also range from a few days to two weeks. Your responsibilities will include:
To identify faults, repair and test/commission actuators in the field.
To modify/upgrade actuators in the field.
Carry out inspections/health checks on Rotork actuators.
Carry out mechanical and sometimes electrical installation of actuators and associated retrofit adaption components, pedestals and drive shafts.
To produce a site visit report for each job that is accurate and technically/grammatically correct.
To produce and submit accurate and detailed expense claims on a weekly basis.
To produce risk assessments and review/amend method statements in line with site requirements.
To occasionally carry out a detailed valve survey collecting mechanical data/dimensions.
THE PERSON
Ideally, you will be educated to OND/HNC/HND level in an engineering related subject, or have gained experience post apprenticeship in a practical engineering environment, preferably in a field based role within an electro-mechanical environment
Knowledge of valves, actuators and digital control systems would be advantageous along with 17th Edition Electrical installation certification.
You will be responsible, self motivated, professional and confident with excellent customer facing skills being able to communicate at all levels.You will have concise and accurate report writing skills and excellent IT skills. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, dealing with people with diplomacy and integrity.Due to the nature of this role you will require a positive and flexible approach to working, time and travel and a clean driving licence is required
